Dear colleagues and friends, members of BSBPE,
We want to congratulate you on the International Medical Physics Day, a day on which we recognize the role of medical physics in the healthcare system. This year’s theme, “Medical Physics and Emerging Technologies: Shaping the Next Decade” is a sign of the dynamic changes we are facing. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, adaptive radiotherapy, theranostics, personalized medicine and new imaging technologies, medical physicists face with new challenges. As medical physicists, we stand on the front line in implementing these new technologies to ensure optimization and quality assurance, to guarantee that innovations are not only implemented but also used safely, reliably, and effectively for the sake of the health of patients and the rest of the medical staff.
On behalf of BSBPE and on my own behalf, I express my gratitude to all medical physicists, engineers, scientific researchers, educators, and everyone who contributes to the development of our profession. Thank you for your work, high professionalism, patience, and dedication to ensuring patient safety and the quality of the diagnostic and therapeutic process. We wish you inspiration for new achievements, confidence in your role as part of medical teams, commitment, successful interdisciplinary work and dialogue, a vision for the future, and partnership in the transformation and shaping of medical physics over the next decade.
